PEKANBARU: 247 contingent of Riau that will be competing on Regional Sports Week (Porwil) IX Sumatra in Bangka Belitung, Sunday (8/11/2015) officially confirmed and released by Acting (Plt) Governor of Riau Arsyadjuliandi Rachman.
The inaugural and released concentrated at Gajah Mada Street Pekanbaru and was attended by the Chairman and administrator of KONI Riau. On IX Porwil, will be followed by 10 areas in Sumatra.
While Riau sends 179 athletes, 43 coaches, and 25 official team. These athletes will follow 10 sports including Athletics, Billiards, Swimming, Soccer, Basketball, Takraw, Badminton, Rock-climbing, Pencak Silat and Chess.
Plt Gubri in his speech said, in preparation and level headed the XIX National Sports Week (PON), in West Java, Riau, Indonesia should be able to be the best and increase the number of athletes who escaped later.
"We should be able to be the best. Of all the preparation program that already moved, Riau should try to be the champion," he said.
While Chairman of KONI Riau, Emrizal Pakis stating, so far Riau was successfully passed 174 athletes in PON. Therefore, KONI Riau targeting 10 branch sports (cabor) in Porwil can get away at the XIX PON later.
"We are targeting 10 cabor this could qualify although there is some pretty heavy competition the cabor," he asserts.
