21 Hotspots Detected In Riau

PEKANBARU - Activities of land and forest fires in Riau has increased. It is identified by the increase of the hotspots this afternoon.

The head of the Agency for Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysics (BMKG) Pekanbaru station, Sugarin said, from terra and aqua satellites, it is generally detected 57 hotspots in Sumatra, where 21 of them are in Riau.

"For Sumatra was detected 57 hotspots spread in five Provinces. For Riau detected 21 hotspots, Kepri 16 hotspots, Aceh 9 hotspots, North Sumatra 9 hotspots, West Sumatra 2 hotspots," explained Sugarin, on Wednesday (30/3/2016).

For Riau itself, Sugarin explains, the hotspots spread in seven Regencies and Cities. Like Dumai six hotspots, Bengkalis five hotspots, Rohil five hotspots, Meranti one hotspots, Inhu and Inhil each one hotspot.

"Of that number, there is 8 hotspots with the confidence level of hotspots. Three in Bengkalis, Dumai and Rohil two hotspots, and Inhu one hotspot," he said.

In general, the weather in Riau Province is a sunny cloudy. The potential for rain with mild to moderate intensities that can be accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds likely to occur the region of Riau, West, and South during the day, evening or night. (Riau/MC yan)
