A. Public Works
Bridge as the means of transportation has a very important role for smooth traffic. The function of bridge is to link the transportation routes which are separated by river, swamp, lake, strait, canal, highway, railway and other crossings. Thus, the government always affords to improve this infrastructure development. In last three years, there have been 1.013 bridges with total length by 28,14 Km until the end of 2014.

Furthermore, Riau Government also makes an effort to improve the road construction in order to support social, economy and public activities of Riau Province which develops dynamically. The street construction of Riau Province in 2014 kept in increasing; it can be viewed from the improvement of pavement and hot mixed asphalted road quality. From the total of Provincial road length, which was 3.033,31 km, there was 1.002,26 km of good quality pavement. This quality was better than the previous years along with the reduction of the medium, slightly damaged and heavily damaged quality pavement. Other than the improvement of pavement quality, the hot mixed asphalted road quality improved when compared to the previous years. The total length of the hot mixed asphalted road in 2014 was 1.336,18 Km.

B. Transportation
Generally, there was no significant improvement on the transportation infrastructures, mainly the land transportation. In land transportation subsector, there were 21 terminals including 4 A classed terminals, 2 B classed terminals 15 C classed terminals and 5 weighbridges in last three years.

In air transportation subsector, some infrastructures rose in number, such as aeroplane of B-737-800 type and B-737-900 type.
